Zuma Beach, half a mile past Dume Drive on PCH.

Just north of Malibu, this large beach is great to avoid the crowds.

El Matador, a mile and a half north of Zuma Beach on PCH.

A hidden little beach down below the bluffs, here you feel like you are on an exotic island.


La Jolla Valley, just off Pacific Coast Highway 20 miles north of Pepperdine.

Located about 1.5 miles north of Big Sycamore Canyon in Point Magu State Park, It is a varied hike with waterfalls, grasslands, wildflowers, and coastal views: distance 7 miles, elevation 800 ft.
