Philippe the Original, home of the original French dip sandwich is turning 100 this year. To celebrate, on October 6th from 4:00-8:00 pm all french dip sandwiches are 10 cents. If you haven't tried them, this will be a great time. After all, the price is right.
Philippe's, as regulars call it is one of the oldest restaurants in LA, if not the oldest. The ambiance here is a step back in time: straw on the floors, cardboard plates, cafeteria style and the French dip. I have been going here since I was a kid. I like it best going with my grandparents, whom have been eating French dip sandwiches since they were teens.
Insiders tip: ask for your sandwich to be double dipped. Yum!
