News Around Town: Lobster, Melograno, Ferran Adria at Cooks Library
Angeli Caffe on Melrose designed their own economic stimulus package valid for lunch Tuesdays-Fridays and dinners nightly except Fridays and Saturdays. They are discounting meals in house, take out and delivery 15% until the economy rebounds.
Good news in Santa Monica. The Lobster, located at the beginning of the pier, is a green restaurant. Their chef is commited to purchasing only sustainable seafood for the menu. They have a great view and delish seafood dishes. I like to take out-of-town visitors here.
At Melograno in Hollywood, every Wednesday from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm they celebrate "Hump Day" with live music, signature cocktails, and complimentary buffet-style stuzzichini (finger foods) on their patio. When you stay for dinner you get 15% off.
Known as the Salvador Dali of food, Ferran Adria, chef genius of El Bulli will be at the Cook's Library on Tuesday, October 14th signing his new book "A Day at El Bulli". If you are as captivated by molecular gastronomy as I am, you won't want to miss this. His appearance must have something to do with the new restaurant Jose Andres is opening up at the new Beverly Hills hotel SLS. This is a free event that needs a RSVP 323-655-3141.
BTW, the photo is from a Satsuma tasting I went to today. More on that later...
