New Brunch Hangout: Olio Pizzeria on 3rd and Crescent Heights

Chanterelles and Squash: Olio Pizzeria on 3rd

Fab pizza dough, fresh ingredients and an enthusiastic owner, Olio Pizzeria on 3rd and Crescent Heights served up a gorgeous pizza on opening day.  The Chanterelle and Squash Pizza was my fave, with serious flavor profiles that satisfied: basil pesto, sauteed spinach, fire roasted butternut squash, chanterelle and king oyster mushrooms and three cheese blend (Mozzarella, Irish Cheddar and Grana Padano).

Next time I'm coming back for breakfast, made in Olio Pizzeria's wood burning oven.  Either the Seasonal Wood Fired Fruit “Danish” (vanilla bean and lemon scented cream cheese filling wood fired with fresh fruit and caramelized organic turbinado sugar) or the Wood Fired Bialy.

I'm thinking this could be the next brunch hangout.  Have you had breakfast at Olio Pizzeria?  When you do, keep me posted by leaving a comment.  Bon Appetit!

Can you tell me what the prices are like for an individual pizza? Frustratingly, the website doesn't list them!

I just ate lunch at Olio with my partner and as much as I wanted to like it, the food was mediocre at best. Pizza had absolutely no flavor, was lacking cheese and they even screwed up one of our pizzas (there were only 3 people there). Honestly, the pizza I had at CPK last week was a step up. Just being honest.

EEk.. The pizza I had certainly was much better than CPK. Bummer about your experience. New restos do have their ups and downs. Let's see what happens.
