Michelin 2009 Los Angeles

Michelin released its selection for the 2009 LA guide
yesterday. It is similar to 2008 edition with some
changes. Melisse, Spago and Urasawa retain 2 stars.
Providence was upgraded from 1 to 2 stars. Still no
Michelin 3 stars in Los Angeles.

A Bib Gourmand category was added. These are awarded to
restaurants serving a meal (two dishes and a glass of wine
or dessert)for $40 or less. Violet, one of my faves for
macaroni and cheese with Serano ham, made that list.
Rumor has it that it is closed. When I called, the
reservation message line is full.

As I am writing this I take my 2008 Michelin Guide out
and realize I have not referred to it since I purchased
it. Hmm...
