City Sip and a Nip on Sunset Blvd. in Echo Park
City Sip reminds me of the little cafes I've been to in Berlin. It has a chill, urban vibe with a great crew. The people who work there leave their attitude at the door. Win and I went their for a drink and dessert after our dinner at Two Boots. We made several tasty discoveries.
We split a plate of huge, farmers-market-fresh strawberries tossed with a sugary balsamic vinaigrette. A scoop of mascarpone was served on the side. I had a glass of Lucien Albrecht rose. A perfect complement with the berries and cream. Win had a glass of the non-alcoholic White Jasmine Golden Star Sparkling Tea, a champagne like mixture of jasmine silver needle tea, raw cane juice and water, another great pairing. We liked our selection so much we bought a bottle of each and made the fresh strawberry dessert the next evening for dessert.
The White Jasmine Golden Star Sparkling Tea makes a great gift ($12.95). As does theLucien Albrecht Brut Rose, made with 100% Pino Noir grapes ($18.79).
